I hardly knew him.
Laurent was a colleague of mine a few years ago. I remember him as a smiling nice guy. We were not friends but he was the guy you were happy to meet and chat a while. He changed his job for new challenges and I have lost contact.
I have heard from friends of him that he passed away 2 days ago, in his bed, while sleeping.
The point of my blog is that we, photographers, are always on the run. And almost always behind the camera. Laurent had 2 little kids. They will have to grow up with a huge emptyness in their heart.
We shoot models for sensuality, landscape for beauty, etc… But what about our everyday life? Your wife and kids, not as models but as what they are. And what about you, what will they have when you are gone?
Photographs are time-catchers, memories maker. So, do not forget from times to times to go in front of the lens. Because we will all go, and some will still be there.
